At Dewford Dojo, we treat every Pokémon card with the highest level of care and attention. Our cleaning service is designed to help improve the overall appearance of cards by carefully removing surface dust, fingerprints, and light debris using safe handling methods and specialized materials.
While we always work with extreme caution, customers should understand that trading cards are delicate collectibles and every card carries its own condition-related risks. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that cleaning will improve a card’s condition or grading result. In rare cases, handling or cleaning may reveal existing flaws or cause unintended damage, especially on cards that already have wear, scratches, dents, weak edges, or surface issues.
By using our cleaning service, the customer acknowledges and accepts these risks. The level of risk may vary depending on the age, condition, and fragility of the card submitted.

Step 1
Card Inspection
Every card begins with a thorough inspection. We carefully examine the card under proper lighting to identify surface dust, fingerprints, residue, scratches, and other imperfections. This assessment allows us to determine the safest and most effective cleaning approach while ensuring the card receives the treatment it needs.
Step 2
Surface Cleaning
Following the inspection, we begin the cleaning and restoration process using specialized tools and safe handling techniques. Dust, dirt, fingerprints, and other surface contaminants are carefully removed to improve the card's overall presentation. Where possible, we also work to reduce or remove minor surface lifts, dents, and creases using collectible-safe methods. Every card is handled with extreme care throughout the process to preserve its condition and maximize its visual appeal.
Step 3
Pressing, Resting & Protection
After the cleaning and restoration process, the card is placed in either a standard press or a heat press, depending on the type and severity of the damage. This controlled resting period helps improve the card's overall appearance and allows it to settle safely after treatment.
Once the process is complete, the card undergoes a final quality inspection before being placed in a brand-new sleeve and returned to a toploader for safe storage and transport, ensuring it is protected and ready to rejoin your collection.
Please note that results may vary depending on the card's age, condition, and existing wear. While pressing and restoration can significantly improve a card's appearance, permanent damage may not always be fully removable.
FAQ
What cleaning supplies do you use?
We can't share all our products in detail since some of them have a selfmade formula. But what we can say is that we have used Kurt's Cardcare products and they are on even part with those products.
How/When can I send cards to you for cleaning/grading
If you want your card(s) to be cleaned, you can either visit us at a card show or send the cards to us directly. Package your products carefully; The Cinnabar Lounge isn't accountable for any damaged or lost packages during transit

Can whitening be fixed?
No. Whitening means that colour particals of the card are gone and these colour particals can't be brought back out of thin air.
Some people temper their cards with ink, paint or crayon dust. But we at Dewford Dojo don't condone this ever, even on request!
Can grading companies detect cleaned cards?
Yes and no. Grading companies have become much more aware of the cleaning business. But here at Dewford Dojo we do our utmost best to ensure the card(s) keep(s) it's orinigal state as much as possible
What happens if a card returns as altered?
That is a risk you take as a customer. We can only guarantee that we work as secure as possible, if a card gets returned as altered it's unfortunate but we can't change that.
